DCSData Collection SystemData collectionCOLLECTION GUIDANCE
A short guide for administrators and estate contacts.
Include all file types, folders and available history from the authorised source device. Collection is not limited to MSPO records. No classification is required before intake. Keep one central intake. Do not create separate upload pipelines for document groups or file types.
Files can contain personal or sensitive information. Keep approved authority, estate access controls and operating-system permissions. Report inaccessible or skipped items; do not count them as collected.
Estate → Source device → DCS session → Source root → Original relative path
Keep original names, paths and versions. Use stable device and session IDs, not display names. Resume the same session; create a new session for a new collection.
A DCS session is one collection batch, not a sign-in, pairing code or temporary upload URL. Preserve each source root so identical paths on different disks do not collide. The server must assign and enforce these identities before live collection.
Your existing MSPO binder, audit reports and findings.
Current policies, operating procedures and management plans.
Risk assessments, licences and company records.
People, training, payroll and medical records within the approved authority.
Land records, estate boundaries and existing maps.
Existing field, harvest and maintenance records.
Environmental and operational monitoring records.
Consultation, grievance and community records within the approved authority.
Open Estates → Local drafts, then Continue configuration. Use the same browser. Clearing site storage removes local drafts.
Keep the tab open. Check that this site can use browser storage and that space is available. Retry Save demo draft. A failed save is never reported as saved.
Select the folder again. File bytes and paths are kept in memory only and are not recoverable after refresh.
Stop. Confirm the correct account and signatory with the estate administrator. Do not send documents through Slack or Telegram as a workaround.
